Saturday June 10th

Saturday, June 10th

We got up at a civilized time and went for breakfast. We decided to head downtown early and tour all the fanfare facilities before heading back to the hotel for a break and the evening shows. The conference centre in downtown Nashville is incredible and has room for thousands of people. We made our way indoors and toured through all the fan booths applying for different contests as well as seeing a few performers as well. We got to see Sarah Evans perform for 15 minutes and then we went over to the soundstage in the back corner to watch an interview with seven or eight people involved in the production of the fancy forever country video with 40 artists in it. Singing country roads and I will always love you in a compilation. It was fascinating to see how they use the green screen to get everyone into the compilation when everything was recorded one artist at a time of been added into The video by the production team.
We left and went down to the street to try out some delicious street food before making our way to some of the outdoor stage is downtown and watching some performers. We decided to stay downtown and look at all the stuff rather than waste time and money to go back to our hotel room. We decided to do some pub hopping and ended up at some iconic Nashville clubs including Tootsies and Jimmy buffets Margaritaville. There were thousands of people everywhere downtown enjoying the club scene and all the live country music.
We grabbed some street food including a free slice of pizza while occasionally ducking in and out of buildings that had air-conditioning trying to survive the 90° heat when we were outdoors. We are not used to this kind of weather sustained every single day.

We made it to the stadium in time for the first act being a classic and John Anderson who sang some of his hits like swinging, Seminole wind and a few more. That was followed up by Maren morris came out with very little on and singing her rocking version of a few hits that were more appealing to a twenty-something crowd.
Chris Young was surprisingly great and I forgot that he had a few fantastic hits.
Next game Lady antebellum and they were amazing. They have some really great songs and everybody knows them and sings along with them. Thomas Rhett came out next time have a couple of hits but was uneventful for the most part. Our friends decided to leave an hour before the concert ended as she had hurt her ankle the previous evening and I needed to get back to the hotel. We decided to stay until the end of Florida Georgia lines who put on a great show. After the show we headed for our usual pick up spot where our Uber driver would pick us up but for some reason he decided not to get back to us after 1130 and shut his phone off either ignoring us are calling it a night. Krista and I had to hike back to downtown and catch a shuttle back to the hotel and never arrived back until almost 2 AM. Tomorrow would most certainly be a long day with not as much sleep as we would like.
